We've photographed and filmed more than 30 events at Wilton Hall, and our HQ in Wolverton is about 15 minutes away. These are the things we tell every couple who books it, so the day runs smoothly and the photos and film look their best.
The venue at a glance
- Where: Wilton Avenue, Bletchley, Milton Keynes MK3 6BN. Next to Bletchley Park, a few minutes from Bletchley station, about 10 minutes from Central Milton Keynes and 15 to 20 minutes from Junction 13 of the M1.
- Size: up to 500 guests seated, or 600 standing, across two floors.
- The building: a refurbished hall dating back to 1943, built for the people working at Bletchley Park in the war.
- Parking: over 80 free spaces on site.
- Food: an in-house catering team, with menus for Asian weddings. Ask the venue about halal options when you book.
- Good for: Baraats, Walimas, full wedding days and segregated events.
Plan your entrance
Wilton Hall doesn't allow fireworks in or around the building, the car park or the grounds.
Plenty still works. Couples at Wilton Hall use:
- bubbles
- dry ice
- stage sparks
- sparklers
- a flower shower: artificial petals thrown from the balcony on the second floor, so the bride walks in as they fall around her. The balcony looks down on the entrance, so guests upstairs can watch it too.
The entrance walkway is lined with real candles in vases. It fits two people side by side, no more, so plan your entrance in rows of two.
Check your plans with the venue first. Then tell us what you'd like, and we'll plan the entrance shots around it.
Our favourite photo spots
On site, the garden has an area set up for couple shots, with hanging warm lights. The photos come out really nice there, especially as it gets dark.
Close by, for the couple shoot:
- Caldecotte Lake, about 5 minutes' drive away.
- The Peace Pagoda at Willen, about 10 minutes away.
- Teardrop Lakes, about 10 minutes away.
- Bletchley Park, right next door. You need permission for photography before the day, so sort this out with Bletchley Park when you plan your wedding.
How long the couple shoot needs
- One hour is ideal.
- 45 minutes works well.
- 30 minutes is the minimum.
Leave this time before the entrance, not after. Once guests are seated, the day moves fast. If you're going to a lake or the Pagoda, add the drive time on top.
Getting ready
Wilton Hall has private dressing rooms for the bridal party, with space for a big dress. Plenty of our couples get ready at a hotel nearby instead, such as La Tour in Central Milton Keynes or the DoubleTree by Hilton at Stadium MK, both within about 10 minutes.
Stage and decor
The venue's decor team is in-house, and every booking comes with their stage and decor. If you want more, you can upgrade. Some couples bring in their own decorator for this: Waahab and Mariam's Walima was decorated by Eastern Touch, and with the upgraded lighting the hall looked like an enchanted palace.
Segregated events
Wilton Hall has two floors, so men and women can celebrate on separate floors. We have female photographers and videographers, so the women's side is covered by women. Just mention it when you enquire.
How we work with the venue team
Anas, Wilton Hall's wedding coordinator, knows us well. He knows exactly how we work and we know how he works, which keeps the day smooth for our couples: everyone knows when the entrance is coming, when speeches start and when the cake is cut.
Our team arrives 10 to 15 minutes before your event starts, so we're set up and ready before the first guests walk in.
